The Valadez Story

The Who

We're Mia and Jason, siblings from Astoria, a small port city in northwest Oregon. For generations, our family has run a tiny hotel overlooking Youngs River Falls. As we saw thousands of people come and go over the years, we also saw what they packed. People came armed with luggage but usually wore only a handful of pieces that have stood the test of time. At Jason Valadez, we bring you those clothes that are made to last a lifetime, not a season! Everything we make is cut for this coast quiet, a little overbuilt, and, most importantly, better every year you own it. If you know the gray, you already know us <3

The What

So what do we actually make? Clothing and accessories built for real weather and real years. Jackets, knits, flannels, boots, shades, the things you reach for on a lazy morning and don't think twice about. No loud logos, no trend-chasing. We'd rather sell you one jacket that lasts ten winters than ten jackets that fall apart in one winter. Everything gets the same test before it earns our name: would it survive an Astoria winter, and would we want to hand it down? If the answer's no, we don't make it.

The Why

We grew up around people who didn't have much but took care of what they owned. Clothing that got passed down kept going for decades. Somewhere along the way, clothes stopped being made like that. It became routine for clothing and apparel to be built to be replaced. We think what you wear should earn its place and mean something by the time you pass it on. That's the whole idea. We started Jason Valadez because we missed the old way.
